Q. Why is the CCSDH unique?

The Canadian Council on Social Determinants of Health (CCSDH) is a collaborative, multi-sectoral stakeholder group in Canada established to influence the factors that shape health and wellbeing. In particular, the CCSDH supports the Public Health Agency of Canada (the Agency) as the Government of Canada lead on the implementation of the 2012 Rio Political Declaration on Social Determinants of Health (Rio Declaration) which seeks to reduce health inequalities.

The CCSDH brings together organizations from many sectors in Canada. It also includes individuals selected on the basis of their knowledge and experience regarding policy, research or intersectoral action on the social determinants of health.
